CONDITIONAL (IF) - sentences
(past simple)

If you left at six, ...
   you would (you'd) catch the train.
   (would + infinitive = conditional 1)

   you could (might,should) catch the train.
   (auxiliary verb (past) + infinitive)

If I were you, ...
   I would (I'd) hurry up.

Anmerkung: Der IF-Satz beschreibt jene Bedingung, aus
welcher die Aussage des Hauptsatzes folgt. Bei Satztyp 2
ist die Erfüllung unwahrscheinlich (improbable, unlikely).
